Analyze keyword frequency and density in any text. Free online keyword density checker for SEO content optimization.
Keyword density is how often a word appears in your text, shown as a percentage of the total word count. This tool automatically finds and ranks your top 30 keywords by frequency — you don't need to enter target keywords yourself, though you can edit the ignored stop-word list (the, a, an, and similar) to fine-tune the results.
Less than it used to. Modern search engines rely on semantic understanding and topical relevance rather than counting exact keyword occurrences, so there's no magic target percentage to hit. Keyword density is still useful as a sanity check — it can reveal accidental over-repetition or confirm a topic is covered often enough to be clearly the subject of the page.
Before publishing a new page, when auditing an older page during a content refresh, or when reviewing a competitor's content to see which terms they emphasize most.
1) Paste your content 2) Optionally edit the stop-words list if you want different common words ignored 3) Click analyze to see your top keywords, their counts, and density percentages 4) Adjust your content based on what you find.
Chasing an exact density number, like forcing a keyword to appear a set number of times. Over-optimizing this way can make content read awkwardly and, in some cases, trigger spam signals — write for clarity first, and use density as a check, not a target.
It analyzes single-word frequency. For multi-word phrases (like "content marketing strategy"), you'll need to read through the top single-word results and judge phrase-level repetition yourself.
Meta Tag Generator and Open Graph Generator for the metadata side of the same page once your content is finalized, and Robots.txt Generator for controlling how crawlers reach it.
