Generate Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags for better social media sharing. Free OG tag generator for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Open Graph (og:) tags are meta tags that tell Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, and similar platforms what title, description, and image to show when someone shares your link. Without them, platforms guess — often pulling the wrong image or a truncated, unhelpful description.
The tag names and format are easy to get subtly wrong (og:image needing an absolute URL, forgetting the matching Twitter Card tags), and a small mistake means the tags silently fail rather than throwing an error. Generating them removes that guesswork.
For any page you expect people to share: blog posts, product pages, and landing pages especially. It's worth doing before a page goes live, since link previews are often cached by the platform the first time a link is shared.
1) Enter your page's title, description, URL, and image 2) Generate the OG and Twitter Card tags together 3) Copy the tags into your page's HTML head 4) Share the link (or use a platform's link debugger) to confirm the new preview.
Using a relative image path instead of a full absolute URL for og:image, or using an image with the wrong aspect ratio, which some platforms crop awkwardly. A roughly 1.91:1 landscape image is the safest default.
Most platforms cache link previews the first time a URL is shared and don't re-check it automatically. Facebook and LinkedIn both offer a debugger tool that lets you force a re-scrape once your new tags are live.
Yes — title, description, image, and a twitter:card set to summary_large_image are generated alongside the Open Graph tags in the same output, so you don't need a separate tool for Twitter's preview format.
Meta Tag Generator covers the broader set of page metadata (title, description, robots, and more), while this tool focuses specifically on the social-sharing preview tags. Many pages use both together.
